Universal and rigid probes can be used with the popular STAR 1150. The SIM/ISO adapter may be used wherever you need to accommodate different smart card formats. Universal Probe The universal probe connected to the STAR 1150 permits simulation and analysis of any kind of smart card: ISO, AFNOR, SIM, by using one the flexible probes available. It is designed to provided: 30V Vpp supply voltage for smartcards needing a programming voltage -42V for blowing the security fuse of ST1200 smartcards Easy access to the functions only available on the external programming head of the STAR 250/260 (Current measurement, open/short test...) The -42V output can be connected to the contact 8 of the smartcard, which is the fuse input for the ST1200. When switched, the voltage drops from 0V to -42V in 15ns, in order to blow the security fuse. With a variety of shapes, they permit emulation of smart cards and SIM cards, in any configuration. The electrolytic Gold/Nickel contacts allow a perfect connection to the terminal. The flexible part is build of Kapton 9121R + coverlay, the smart card and connector part having a supplementary glass/epoxy layer. These probes are equipped with a HE10 female connector. Male connector is available upon request, to adapt these probes to other hardware.
