What is a Filter?

Whenever you see the above Icon, you have the ability to filter records. A filter allows you to select a group of records that you are interested in -- they are used throughout IDVerify. An example of a filter might be customers found only in Texas. You could apply a State filter to screen out all records except the ones found in Texas. You can add more than one filter criteria, and possibly find all people born in 1963 found in the sate of Texas. There are endless possibilities to applying filters to your customer database and other records.

There are 2 special characters that you can use with a filter:

1) The "-" (minus) key: Using this character by itself as a filter selects all records in that field that have no data (Null).
2) The "+" (plus) key: Using this character by itself as a filter selects only records in that field that have some sort of data (Not Null).
